NOTW - Stripes & Spots | MUA & Sally Hansen |

Hello There!

This think I think I've gone a bit creative with my nails - I literally can't believe how adventurous I felt and I just went for it and had a go at striping tape. So here's my tutorial for this nail look :)

1. So the first thing I did was cut the striping tape into inch-ish pieces and stuck them on an open drawer.

2. I painted 2 coats of MUA's 'All Natural' on my nails. Wait until dry (7 mins ish)

3. Next I laid 5 strips onto my nails. You can put two next to each other to make thicker lines if you want. Do this for all nails except accent nails.

4. Paint your next colour on top. I used two coats of Sally Hansen's 'Black Platinum'. Apply layer 1 wait 30 seconds and then apply second coat. Then remove strips. It's best to do on nail at a time for this bit.

5. Freehand dots onto accent nail with Dotter tool or cocktail stick.

6. Finish the look with a top coat. I used Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. This gives a glossy manicure look, evens out the nail surface, and dries really quickly (30seconds).

My Birthday Make-Up Look | Storm Palette

Hello There!
Today I'm talking about the look that I created for my birthday. I felt like doing something a little bit different - just to mark the occasion really. So, I looked to my Sleek Storm palette because I really don't give it enough attention. I know that red and green are complementary colours so I decided to use the pinky-purpley colours to make my eyes stand out (top right hand colours). You could add a brown to the outer V to make it smokier, but I liked it simple for an everyday look.

The big surprise for me was that I used a BROWN mascara. I guess the biggest shock was that I actually liked it. I picked this up in brown by accident but there's not much I can do now that I have it, so I decided to use it. The brush is so-so, nothing special, but the brown mascara is really subtle. I think it has the same effect on my lashes as clear mascara does. Just gives them a little something, but not a massive statement.

I used the black eyeshadow and a push liner brush to thicken my lash line because I want to keep the focus on my eyeshadow and I thought that eyeliner would be a bit much (I can never get small lines). So for me this was tonnes easier. I guess that a brown eyeliner would also be good, maybe an idea for next time.

So this is the look. Everything else is natural because I'm not that comfortable with bold looks yet, but I'm going to branch out soon.

Mini Primark Haul | Bargain Hunting

Hello There!

I went to the dentist today and it just happened to be round the corner from a shopping centre. Oops. So I may have accidentally nipped into a few shops and made a few teeny-weeny purchases while I was waiting for my lift. And that's no joke, they were only teeny-weeny. And because most of what a got was a Bargain, I thought that I would share with you the new additions.

So, the first things I'll talk about are the shoes and the belts. I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that these shoes were only £3 each. So I got both designs. There was a third which was browns but they didn't look so great. The black and white ones are great because they'll go with anything, and the rose gold ones are just gorgeous! The belts I just picked up because I haven't got a skinny brown belt in my wardrobe and for £2 for 2 they just flew into my basket.

I also bought both a purse and a make-up bag. I'd seen a blog post about a similar make-up bag a couple of weeks ago and so I had my eye out when I went to primark. It's a Ted Baker dupe, well I think so, but I just liked the design in general. I have to admit that I don't really use make-up bags and they tend to get random uses, but you know, I liked it...
I also bought this purse. I've used the same purse (seen here) for about 3 years now and I saw this and just thought 'what the hell' 'why not' 'live a little' 'get a new purse'. So that's what I did...

The final thing I want to talk about is this really quirky sunglasses case. I just thought that it was a really fun thing for my handbag. I've been using an old make-up bag to store my sunglasses in my bag but I thought this was so cute I just had to have it :)
